How To Identify Jack Points And Lift Your BMW E46 M3

Updated: Oct 13, 2022

Remember when I said I wanted to create more relatable content for you? Well, how many of you can relate to this: watching some "How-To" car videos on YouTube and they tell you to jack up your car to access XYZ, only to never actually show you how they are jacking up their car? Or they're showing it in the distance while the voiceover is already talking about something else?

With the number of times I've had to lift my car to work on it and all the different cars I've worked on, I still find myself having to turn to good ol' Google just to make sure I know the best and safest way to lift my car on to jack stands. It's better to be safe than sorry! And I'd much rather err on the side of caution when it comes to lifting up/being underneath something that weighs a couple of tons.

This week's video is bringing it back to basics for you. We're giving you an in-depth view and demonstrating exactly where the jack points are and how to lift your E46. The jack points can vary based on different cars - I'm specifically showing you how to lift a BMW E46 M3, but if there's anything else you want to see, leave a comment and let me know!

This process takes a pro 10-15 mins, while something like this will take me (your everyday car enthusiast) 15-30 mins.
